Which v2rayN download should you choose? x64, ARM64 and Desktop explained

The release page looks crowded, but the decision comes down to processor architecture, UI build and whether you want a portable package.

Steps

  1. Open Windows Settings → System → About and read System type. Standard Intel and AMD PCs use windows-64; Windows devices with Snapdragon commonly need windows-arm64.
  2. The regular build follows the traditional Windows UI. Files containing desktop use the cross-platform Avalonia UI. Keep the two builds in separate folders.
  3. New users should choose the recommended archive that includes common cores. Use a minimal package only when you intentionally manage cores yourself.
  4. Download from the 2dust/v2rayN Releases page and verify the version, architecture and exact filename before opening it.

Why this matters

A mismatched architecture normally will not launch at all. Mixing files from different UI builds can create subtler configuration and component failures.

How to verify

The extracted app opens, the About page reports the expected architecture, and at least Xray or sing-box appears in the available cores.

Things to watch

x64 is not Intel-only; most AMD PCs also use x64. Current releases do not treat Windows 7 as a normally supported platform.
