What to back up

v2rayN's config lives in guiNConfig.json in the program folder (nodes, subscriptions, routing, etc.). Zipping the whole v2rayN folder is safer, taking the core and custom rules along too.

Sponsored Where does the subscription link come from? Our partner provider gives you 1 GB of high-speed Hong Kong data at signup — import it in one click. Get high-speed nodes

Migration steps

  1. Old machine: fully quit v2rayN (right-click tray → Exit), then copy the folder.
  2. New machine: unzip the latest official build and overwrite with your backed-up guiNConfig.json.
  3. Launch, check that subscriptions and nodes are present, then update once.

Note

The config file holds every node's key — the equivalent of your passwords. When backing up to a cloud drive, encrypt the archive rather than uploading it in plain text to a public place.
