Steps
- Install from 2dust/v2rayNG Releases or a trusted store linked by the project. Verify package name and version.
- Import an authorized profile from clipboard or QR, then remove credential-bearing screenshots and clipboard history.
- Select the profile and connect. Read and approve Android's first VPN connection dialog.
- Test a site, DNS and normal apps. If the process is killed, exempt only v2rayNG from battery optimization instead of weakening system-wide protection.
Why this matters
Android VPNService captures traffic while vendor power management can stop the background process. Treat source verification and battery policy as separate decisions.
How to verify
The VPN indicator appears, traffic counters move, and disconnecting removes the system VPN and returns normal networking.
Things to watch
Android generally allows one VPNService at a time. Ad blockers, enterprise VPNs and other proxy clients may conflict.
