Steps
- Verify manual start, connection and clean exit before enabling Start with system.
- Choose an explicit system-proxy behavior. Use automatic configuration in a normal setup; use Do not change only when another tool owns the proxy.
- Restart twice and wait for networking. Confirm the v2rayN UI, core process and tray icon all appear.
- Practice clearing the proxy from the tray or Windows Settings when the core is intentionally stopped.
Why this matters
Autostart turns an occasional fault into an every-boot fault. Knowing the recovery path prevents a dead core from leaving an active but unusable proxy.
How to verify
Two consecutive restarts produce a working connection, and exiting v2rayN leaves the proxy state you intended.
Things to watch
Do not let several proxy clients change system proxy at login. Their UI state can diverge from the actual Windows setting.
