Why transparent proxy

With the proxy on the router, phones, TVs and smart speakers route automatically the moment they join Wi-Fi — no client on each device and no on/off fiddling.

Common plugins

  • PassWall 2: full-featured, with mature node management and routing rules.
  • homeproxy: maintained by ImmortalWrt, sing-box based, newer.
  • SSR Plus+: long-standing, with multi-core support.

Basic steps

  1. Confirm the firmware supports it and has room to install a plugin.
  2. Install the plugin and its core (Xray / sing-box).
  3. Add nodes or a subscription and pick a routing mode (GFWList / bypass mainland).
  4. Join Wi-Fi on a phone and test a foreign site.

On a weak router CPU, REALITY / Hysteria2 encryption may not saturate your bandwidth — choose a lighter protocol or a stronger router.
